Project Management Meeting #12

Attendees

Thank You Notes

  • MORPC to prepare thank you notes to send to stakeholders and meeting attendees
  • Thank you’s will be sent via email and the website should be mentioned

Safe Kids Grant

  • $10,000 grant for pedestrian safety to be spent by end of year 2008
  • Ann Lewicki from the Health Department would like to prepare application for Franklinton project
  • Application deadline is December 30, 2007
  • Consider using for ladder style crosswalks on school “Walk Smart Routes”
  • EMH&T to determine crosswalk locations – use 24” bars

Stakeholder Meeting and Open House

  • MORPC to prepare meeting minutes – should be completed this week or early next week
  • MORPC to upload photos from Open House to ftp site

Truck Routing

  • MORPC to organize meeting with businesses and Board of Trade
  • EMH&T to provide MORPC with business names and contact information
  • EMH&T to add “Truck Route” sign under “Through Trucks Prohibited” sign, directing trucks to Glenwood Avenue on truck routing plan

Traffic Circles

  • EMH&T to determine if simple traffic circles (without curb modifications) can be installed at four-legged intersections in lieu of curb extensions
    • Consider areas where speeding comments were received
    • Consult Dan Burden on recommended locations and impacts on parking
    • Prepare typical and send to Terry for approval, prior to preparation of cost estimates

Median Park Extensions

  • Snow removal on sidewalks in median areas would be responsibility of Parks and Recs which is not desired
  • Could pull back curb behind crosswalk and use asphalt for walkway and allow plows to clear snow, but not desirable
  • Consult Dan Burden on clearing snow

Cost Estimates

  • Include sketches for each typical, detailing work to be done
  • Generate a CIP list of large cost projects with possible funding sources and amounts needed

Town/Rich Street Conversions

  • EMH&T to contact Doyle Clear to discuss one-way to two-way conversion project

Invoicing

  • Okay to submit invoices into year 2008, but make sure contract period is not exceeded
  • EMH&T to resubmit Invoice #2 without reimbursable items if receipts are not obtained
