West Broad Street
- Dan Burden recommended considering the following 3-Lane section:
- 14-Foot center two-way left turn lane
- Extra width provides flexibility to widen travel lanes later, if needed
- Colorize the asphalt to distinguish from travel lanes
- (2) 6-Foot parking lanes on the outsides
- Larger width would reduce valuable space without added safety benefits
- (2) 7-Foot bike lanes between parking and travel lanes
- Colorize the asphalt to distinguish from travel lanes
- End at roundabouts and possibly add ramps and trail around
- (2) 10-Foot travel lanes
- 14-Foot center two-way left turn lane
- Curb extensions should be extended to accommodate front and rear doors of bus
- Improvements should enable some turn restrictions to be removed to lessen cut-through traffic and speeding on neighborhood streets
Traffic Circles
- Dan Burden thought the cost estimate was very high – should only consist of adding a curbed island in the middle of the intersection
- Substantial curb reconstruct and right-of-way takes were needed because of tee intersection
Sidewalks
- Missing sidewalk segments should be prioritized
- School areas should have highest priority
