Opening
- Terry Stewart welcomed everyone to the meeting at 3:05 PM
- Larry Creed presented a draft version of the presentation to be offered at the November 1 Stakeholder meeting
Updates to Presentation
- Graphs showing comments need to be more legible
- Sidewalks
- City is primarily concerned for missing sidewalks on arterials and collectors. Assessment programs are in place for local streets
- Sidewalk estimate seemed low; usually about half-million per mile
- Need to include pictures and diagrams for toolbox items
- Need estimates for all roundabouts in the study area
Known Area Projects
- West Broad Street Improvements
- From Central Avenue, west to Hilltop
- New curb and sidewalk on north side of road in shopping center area
- Expected completion year 2009
- Sullivant Avenue/Central Avenue intersection improvements (Terry provided plans)
- New curb and sidewalk on Souder Avenue from Thomas Avenue to Bellows Avenue
- Numerous paving projects along Town Street and Rich Street
- Main Street and Rich Street bridges
West Broad Street Comments
- Remove mid-block pedestrian crossings (unsignalized intersections)
- Typical #2 – Make 4 – 11’ Travel Lanes and 2 – 8’ Parking Lanes
- Don’t show I-70 interchange intersection since inconsistent with improvement figure
- Remove parking and create left turn lanes at Souder Avenue and Davis Avenue
- Remove curb extension and create EBRT lane at Grubb Street
