Closing Workshop Format
- Presentation of possible solutions and open feedback on those suggestions
- Solutions will be grouped and presented in accordance with the 4 sub-areas established in the walk audit
- Land use/building codes will have minimal role and was used to set stage and introduce issues
- Room should be setup as it was for the Opening Workshop
- Schedule
- Terry will open the workshop and provide introduction
- Dan will deliver 30 to 40 minute PowerPoint presentation
- Community will provide feedback that will be recorded on 2 large tablets
- Community will prioritize the suggested improvements

- Put a PowerPoint slideshow from recent closing workshop for Stanford on his ftp site

- Forward Dan’s ftp site information to Terry and Dilip
- Prepare a traffic volume map that includes speeds and truck volumes and send to Dan in Illustrator compatible format
- Send email to Dan and Ken Owens with EMH&T ftp site information and project team email addresses for use as communication tool in preparation for the workshop. Only Dilip and Bernice from MORPC should be include
- Upload aerial base map to Dan’s ftp site
- Prepare a laminated and mounted exhibit showing the 3 comment maps from MORPC and a blank map to be used to document additional comments
- Send Terry a copy of bike image with man and helmet from MUTCD to be used in logo

Additional Items Discussed
- Planning process should not be rigid and should accommodate modifications throughout, even through construction
- A steering committee should be established where the members are available throughout the entire process
- A support staff should be established where the members can be called upon when needed
- Fire Department has “standard” routes
- Pilot Work
- Certain improvements should be field tested prior to implementation
- Need to inform blocks of people where improvements are suggested and receive a majority of their support.
- West Park Avenue may be an ideal place to begin, given current involvement in that area
- Mark Dravillas from the City is interested in the process
- Brick Streets
- Excellent traffic calming devices
- Approximate cost of one block of brand new brick street is $1 million (includes new base, utilities, etc.)
- Maintenance free for 80 to 100 years
- Dan considers Liberty Street in the Brewers Yard in Columbus, Ohio, as one of the best brick roads in the nation
- Westerville, Ohio, is in the process of replacing a brick street
- Traffic Volumes per MORPC
- Mound Street at Harrison Pike – 36,000 ADT
- Harrison Pike at Mound Street – 22,000 ADT
- Sullivant Avenue at Central Avenue – 20,000 ADT
- Central Avenue at Sullivant Avenue – 12,000 ADT
